Static stance or Standing Form - regarded as the building block of Chinese martial arts boxing fundamentals , in a broad sense , including dynamic and static two forms or piles. The dynamic pile includs general practice Wushu (Chinese KongFu) and unitary repeated practice. On the other hand, the stationary static pile is the Standing Form or Static Stance. It is a physical activity , but also a physical and mental training and healing.
Static Stance method is derived from the ancient Chinese tradition of martial arts training in a basic skills. North called it Zhan Zhuang while the South called it Zhama. It is the most fundamental of any fighting technique . The human body in the process of growing , a lot of doping acquired dangerous movement which will cause the body tense unconsciously for long period of time. Praciticing Static Form is to conciously restore the original strength of human body and relax the body back to its baby state.
Static Stance postures generally is comprised of -stand, sit , lay-down, walking , half lay-down and other types. Each type can be divided into several, or even dozens of different positions. However even with a wide range of position , other than walking except , they have a common characteristic , that is, closing the eye at the beginning of practice, great concentration , slow breath, then slowly and gracefully posture , so that the trunk limbs remains intact until the workout ends. As beginners, you can begin with practicing standing form. To do this, you need to have legs splayed apart at the shoulder width , bend the legs to maintain a certain degree , like sitting on the hips , then raise hands. The height of the hands should not be higher than eyebrow, should not be lower than navel, not touching the body but close. Arms should forma semicircle form, and keep the two hands apart. The action varied within these ranges. The Static Stance can be practiced two or three times a day , starting every time ten minutes , then gradually extended to forty minutes.
Because this movement is a double exercise , not only exercise the body , but also one's concentration or self-control. Therefore, resists of distractions is more important.
